Teen Acne occurs in the puberty period among the teens as a result of the excessive production of sebum
Acne is a skin disease more common in teens. Even it may be the fear of many teens. The symptoms like black heads, whiteheads, and lesions are common among teens in the puberty period. It is normal if it persists to that certain period and probably would have a big impact, if it continues even after the puberty period. It ordinarily appears on the face, neck, back and chest. It is categorized to inflammatory and non- inflammatory acne.
Sometimes lesions occur which is painful and austere. It is not only the physical pain for teens but psychologically it affects them in a negative way. The so call puberty period is the age between eleven and fourteen. It may continue the whole teen cycle and sometimes in the beginning stages of adulthood also.
The primary cause of acne among the teens lies in the puberty period. It is the time when the body produces hormones which together join with the dead skin and oil dirt causes the red skin, bumps etc.
Despite the male sex hormones production during the age, there is some other factor which could be one of the causes of acne like genetics. Teens may get the skin problems like acne from their parents. Acne may appear to be in different forms and it varies relatively to the teens. The following are the some of the forms:
-Blackheads usually appear in the face as black dots which are not dust or any stain particles but the bacteria reacted with the oxygen.
-Whiteheads is also similar to that but appear in the white form.
-Papule is a form of pimple which seems like red lesions which are painful and feel rough.
-Cyst is a fluid form appears on the skin which discharges pus.
Teen Desperation
If acne is severe it would affect the teen’s both physical and mental health.It gives psychologically ill feeling and traumatic pain that obstruct him from doing things. Effects which includes
-Social withdrawal
-Low self-esteem
-Apathy
-Wrath
-Mentally sick feeling
-Discouragement
It is a thing that needs to be addressed instantly notwithstanding that creates a traumatic pain in the whole life of the teen. If it is left free, the teens feel abhorrent and ugly and punish themselves for being dirty. It is very important for the parents to know this in prior and bring forth a solution.
Many teens feel shy and filled with despair and even fear to go out to the social meetings, peer groups and any other activities largely due to the very reason of being infected with acne and the possible humiliation they have to face.
They think that they will be embarrassed by their peers and also creating a feeling that acne onslaught them due to the reason of being ugly and dirty. They lose their confidence, self-esteem and vigorousness. Lack of enthusiasm deters them in every work and putting an impediment for their growth.
Role of parents
Parents’ sensitiveness to this problem possibly could bring out a result. They have to feed them that life is not just the physical beauty but beyond that. The words should give them a boost and encouragement. It should be taught to the children to make them realize the life and its worthiness.
Spending time with them, in front of the mirror, looking at the face and the beauty beyond the acne and gives he/she encouragement will be the best solution for the teens who divulged in thinking about acne always.
It is to be educated to the teens by their parents and teachers that acne is regular and common among the teens and they should not feel shy or embarrass. Also the teens should be taught that acne occurs in the phase of life cycle in everyone’s life and it ends by the age of 20.
So they feel confident and comfortable and doesn’t anxious about that. Also they should be instructed how to stay clean and stay away from dirt. Deviate them to the other activities like yoga, exercise, breathing exercises and meditation and make it as a routine for them for the feel of comfort and mentally strong feeling.
Many Dermatologists feels that the patient or the child should be given an opportunity to speak about their feelings and problems. In most cases, parents monopolize the conversation with the doctor that excludes the child from discussing his/her problems. Doctors want to hear the troubles and problems from the patients’. It is always encouraged to have a friendly relationship with their kids so that the parents know what the child is thinking.
Sometimes the child may not be interested or afraid of treatment, in those cases parents’ should involve themselves into the act and teach him/her about the ill-effects like permanent scars and also they should make them remember the acne sitting on their face gives them a bad image, so that the child apprehends the situation and the requirement for the treatment. It is usually done by making them remember the acne, for instance, keeping a bathroom mirror.
Some basic instructions for teens
It is to be known that acne is a common skin problem occurs for eight out of ten teenagers. Despite of that, some things should be taken care like hygienic factors which may probably help you to be free of acne. How can one control and moderate the effect of it? Here are some of the tips.
-Don’t rub or squeeze the spots or zits because it increases the number of spots and makes it even worse.
-Suppose if you find it itchy and you could not stop popping it out, you can clean your part with soaps, creams etc.
-Pressure or force on the pimples makes it worse like wearing helmet, unfit apparels etc.
-Avoid using irritable substances for hair care.
-Avoid working with rough chemicals in a regular basis
-Avoid the hair falling on your face which can make your face oilier.
-Stress would be equally another factor which makes your skin worse.
There are some other things which you need to consider like the food. First you should know that the eatables like greasy foods, chocolate do not have any risky effect on your skin problem.
